After consideration, we have decided to enable recruitment for Star Citizen. After all, if most promises and ideas make it into release (or shortly after), then that vast "(uni)verse" cannot be ignored.
As a result, we will slowly adapt site content and sections.
The price should simply be around Aurora/Mustang level, then it would be seen as a starter ship, as intended. In it's current class it isn't overwhelmingly big, strong or cool. tho. Only thing positive i noticed it has a nice cruiseMax speed.
It definitely has an above average cargo hold - in comparision to the Aurora and Mustang, maybe. It's not my kind of Ship, but it flies and steers quite well and i haven't seen a single landing pad that is too small for it.
I flew it in the PTU. It flies like a double decker bus! And having such wide wings makes it ludicrously difficult to land in many places, and for its functionality and cargo space shouldn't be taking up so much space
@Elena and Steve: no need to get all worked up, the classification is different even in real navies of the earth, let alone all the scifi-universes out there. RSI will probably classify it in time for you.
(pt2)... and the Carrack, along with ships such as the Starfarer, Merchantman and even Endeavour are just way smaller. I also can't go ahead and call my Connie a Corvette just because it has a snub and two turrets
Aye, hate to disagree there Steve, but every game has it's own Classification shematic. In Star Citizien, a Idris-Sized Ship is classed as a Frigate (While Polaris = Corvette / Javelin = Destroyer sized) ...(pt1)
The Polaris is the substitute for the Idris, so it is a corvette - It's, from what we know, bigger than the Carrack. I don't see a flaw here. Also this is Star Citizen, that's seperate from the Mass Effect Universe in my opinion.
That's irrelevant to the classification as "Frigate". Classification comes by Size and Role, none of which are met to put the Carrack in the same Class than p.ex a Frigate. Even the Polaris, confirmed Corvette, is larger.
The type of hull were also used as merchants, and in some capability is early frigates. And the Star Citizen carrack is no timy merchant vessel, nor is it skimping on armour. I'm not intending to use it on fromtlines, but it will play a critical...
